CHOOSE YOUR INDUSTRY:
Shannon Yocum, an executive coach, facilitator and the founder of Northlight Leadership, partners with healthcare leaders, senior executives, and high-performing teams to strengthen authentic leadership and unlock clarity.
With more than a decade of experience coaching and designing leadership development initiatives, Shannon works across corporate, nonprofit, and mission-driven organizations – often during periods of growth and transformation. Through her work, she addresses complex challenges which are often rooted in communication breakdowns, unclear expectations, trust gaps, and leadership blind spots.
At the core of Shannon’s work is a simple belief: leadership is deeply human work. She brings a holistic, multidimensional approach that bridges the human side of leadership, helping leaders strengthen performance while deepening self-awareness and relational effectiveness. She creates space for leaders to think clearly, speak honestly, and work through complexity without losing momentum. Known for balancing warmth with candor, she helps clients elevate emotional intelligence, lean into their strengths, and reframe experiences – often sparking clarity and insight that shift how they lead and how they show up for others.
Shannon earned her master’s degree in Integrative Coaching from the University of Minnesota, grounding her work in both the art and science of behavior change. She is certified in Gallup Clifton Strengths, DiSC, EQ-i 2.0, and Insights Discovery, and integrates these evidence-based tools to support deeper self-awareness and stronger team dynamics.
Outside of her professional work, Shannon is a proud parent of three young adult children. She recharges through time with family and friends, meaningful conversation, pickleball matches, yoga, and being outdoors. That balance of connection and movement helps her show up grounded, steady, and fully present in her work with leaders and teams.
