Unsung COVID-19 Hero – Rodric Green

Rodric D. Green, who works in security at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton, says COVID-19 has meant big changes for his department. “The majority of our calls are in response to patients’ visitors who are upset they’re not allowed to go onto the floors,” he said. “I’ve got to have empathy for these people. It’s hard to deal with those situations, but we are protecting the public.”

While he’s not on the front lines dealing with potential or confirmed COVID-19 patients, Rodric is playing a large part in helping keep Texas Health Denton safe.

Rodric, who has been at Texas Health Denton for 14 months, previously was a supervisor in security at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. He’s dealt with difficult situations before: He was in the U.S. Marine Corps for 20 years, and spent some of that time as an infantry platoon sergeant in Iraq.
