HLI & PAGNY Enhancing Recruitment and Retention session

Talent recruitment and retention in healthcare is #1 concern for physicians, nursing and healthcare leaders. However, to continue to do the same activities and expect a different outcome is the definition of Insanity. We need uncommon ways to keep great talents and recruit new ones.
Last week I had the honor of leading the Enhancing Recruitment and Retention session for the PAGNY Physician Leadership Development Program. Working with the physician leaders, we explored how they can deal with the talent recruitment shortage and the great resignation or staff turnover.
We specifically focused on how to think and act uncommonly to address key retention strategies and tactics including focusing on three areas that professional care about:
1. Purpose
2. Mastery
3. Autonomy
