Foundation Health Partners – Leadership Academy Graduation

HLI CEO Mo Kasti had the honor of attending the Foundation Health Partners Leadership Academy graduation in Fairbanks, Alaska!

This vibrant group of physicians completed a year-long journey focused on planning, communication, engagement and leading others. The academy was launched in May of 2023 and included monthly on-site and virtual leadership development sessions focusing on the following topics:

• From Clinician to Clinician-Leader
• Leading Across Differing Styles & Approaches
• Providing Constructive Feedback
• Creating Clarity of Roles and Priorities Through the Line of Sight Tool and Process
• Leading Exhausted Teams with Pragmatic Optimism
• Inspiring Engagement in Change & Improvement
• Leading Through Conflict & Having the Tough Conversations
• Creating a Culture of Experimentation – Rethinking the Work
• Continuous Process Improvement
• Healthcare Financial & Business Acumen

The reported themes and lessons learned from the academy were related to personal leadership effectiveness, successfully leading their team/department and successfully utilizing tools to lead with strategy, to lead change, and to assess/lead process improvement efforts.

This is a snapshot of overall average improvements after participating in this academy:

• 89% improvement in the ability to describe the differences between work as a clinician and work as a Clinician Leader.
• 244% improvement in the ability to describe and utilize the Line of Sight tool to provide a clear set of priorities and actions as well as a measure of progress.
• 256% improvement in the ability to describe the value of understanding work styles (DiSC) in shaping communication to facilitate trust and clear communication with others.
• 199% improvement in the ability to assess and lead process improvement efforts.
