When clinicians lead in partnership with administrative leaders, we ensure that organizational decisions are informed by clinical expertise and knowledge of patient concerns. Leading, however, requires a set of abilities that differ from those essential to clinical excellence. To thrive in the ever-evolving healthcare landscape, we need leaders who communicate well, build and sustain positive working relationships, collaborate with others and influence others. In this session, we’ll explore a framework for effective clinician leadership and enhance skills in the areas of communication, collaboration and influence.

When leaders don’t make the time and/or don’t have the tools for effective delegation, they can struggle to keep themselves and their teams focused on the most vital goals. During this session, you’ll learn and apply delegation principles that help you and your team achieve your goals. You’ll learn how to: (1) Describe the key elements of effective delegation, (2) Apply the ABCDE model for setting expectations and making requests, and (3) Be confident in making requests without guilt.

The ability to lead productive meetings is essential to effective collaboration and leadership. Through this session, you will learn to identify the keys to productivity in meetings and apply strategies to maximize your effectiveness as meeting leader.

People approach work differently. We differ in how we process our thoughts, communicate with others, organize our work, prioritize goals and approach problems. During this session, we will use the DiSC© profile to enhance leadership self awareness and development, and learn strategies for relating effectively across diverse styles.

What enables a group of people to consistently function as a high performing team? During this session we will explore the factors that enable organizational and team success and the tools necessary for leaders to build and maintain this foundation.

Effective performance feedback, when delivered well, can enhance employee engagement, resolve issues quickly, and strengthen satisfaction and loyalty across the workplace. Despite its importance, many leaders find giving feedback uncomfortable and often avoid it. This session introduces communication strategies that build confidence and skill in delivering constructive feedback.

This session, explores a critical element of leading difficult conversations: your intentions. While communication tools and frameworks are important, they can fall flat—or even backfire—if not grounded in the right mindset. Instead of starting with skills, we’ll pause to examine whywe’re entering the conversation in the first place. This session guides leaders through four key intentions to reflect on before initiating a difficult conversation, helping ensure that your approach is aligned, authentic, and constructive.

Trust is not given by title, but it is earned by leaders. Thus, the ability to build trust and restore or repair trust when needed, is an essential skill for leaders. In this session, we’ll explore the nature and dynamics of trust in the workplace, present skills for building trust, and discover ways to restore trust when it has been compromised
