Mark has over 30 years of experience as a board-certified General Surgeon and over 10 years of experience as a Medical Executive at the Facility and Healthcare Network level. He received his MD with Honors from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics. After residency, Dr. Kadowaki served as a General Surgeon at Naval Hospital Great Lakes, where he was the Director of the Critical Care Unit. He moved on to private practice where he held several positions of leadership at the hospitals he was on staff at, including Chief of the Surgery Department and as a member of the Board of Directors of his Medical Group.​

After moving to the Veterans Health Administration, he served as both Chief of Staff at the facility level and the Chief Medical Officer at the network level, demonstrating executive level leadership. His diverse background in clinical practice, healthcare administration, and executive leadership uniquely qualifies him to support his coaches’ growth and success in the healthcare industry.​

Mark has an MBA with a specialization in Healthcare Administration from King University. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is an Associated Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.​
