Rural-urban differences in quality of care exist

A recent CMS report on rural-urban differences in quality of care that exist at the national level.

The report revealed a pattern in which rural residents, regardless of race or ethnicity, commonly received worse clinical care than urban residents.

This analysis also identified rural Blacks receiving care from MA plans as a group that often reports notably worse patient experiences than others.

The results presented in this report lead to a conclusion that quality improvement efforts should focus on improving clinical care for all rural residents and on investigating and addressing the causes of poor patient experiences for Black rural residents enrolled in MA.

This is another evidence that we need to be more consumer centric in healthcare. We need Innovation.
